Hi guys, I've been pressure washing and sealing part time for a few years and decided to quit my full time job and add window and gutter cleaning, have invested in wfp set up and trad tools , learning both methods although getting better results with traditional , have got to do my first conservatory on weds and I understand through reading this forum ubik is the key, the only prob is I've left it to late to order online and can't seem to find anywhere who sells over the counter?? I'm near...

self clean glass roof question

Hi everyone. I know this ones been done before on various threads but I have a big self clean glass conny roof this week to do andits my first one. It's absolutely filthy loads of bird sh#t etc. I know I can't use my normal ubik but is it ok to use ecover/fairy platinum etc then scrub and rinse with pure? Also do you need a special brush? In connys I normally just use my gardiner sill brush. Bit nervous about this one any help appreciated cheers

Cony roof how is best ?

what is the best way to clean a cony roof ? I used to just dip a broom in my bucket of soapy water then scub and rinse with a hose.Now ive got a unger pole and brush and trolly it still seems to take just as long if not longer.Not sure what is the best brush to use the unger one I'm using is long and quite soft bristles.Im thinking harder bristles maybe better ? its the frame work that is the pain in the arsenal especially if it has ridges for the dirt to get into.What about pressure washer...

Perspex Roof Hole

Yesterday had predicament, discovered a hole about a large egg size in custy con roof. Had to repair before moving on to clean, don't know whether me when removing a lot of moss and debris.

I used a clear sandwich box lid, cut up to size, then glued. Seemed to work as rest of clean went sweet as nut.

Any other suggestions, I did tell custy, just in case you ask and Was OK.

I've cleaned many, many conservatory roofs without issue, however, I have a roof to clean that's an absolute mare.
Its polycarbonate that's overhung by trees and the sheets are literally black.
I've done it twice before. Once using a karcher pressure washer (I know), and once using a strong mix of virosol. Both times took me forever and my shoulders took a pounding. Neither times left a great finish, although the customer was happy.
So what I'm wondering, is how would using hypo work out?...

Hi,
Firstly, I don't post very often, but read often. Some good ideas which have helped me out loads. Cheers.
I've been using Wfp for conservatory roof cleans and charging £25, which frankly seems a joke when they are minging. Thankfully they're often lumped into a fascia clean which eases the loss.
I got fed up and have started charging £35 for a not too dirty average 3 side glass roof which still seems cheap, but the custy balked. I didn't get the job. Do I need to dig my heels in and...

Pricing a maintanace clean for conny roof

I have a custy who I clean their windows and conny windows bi-monthly. When I quoted the job they asked how much for the conny roof as a one off. I quoted £85 but the guy turned round and said he would do it himself as he did not want to pay that much.
The wife has now text me and asked me to include the conny roof with the windows bi-monthly.
Should I stick with the £85 and then charge a maintanance rate in accordance to my hourly rate or lower the £85 with a maintanance rate? What do you...

i've got to quote 2 conservatory roofs to clean on the inside at a school at height which might need a ladder to clean it, how much more do you guys charge do the insides compared to the outside? The frames on the windows do have a lot of mould on it

What would you use to get rid of mould on sealant?

I have a conny to do inside and out (not roof) I'm going to use Ubik on outside and the customer has asked if I could remove the mould on the sealant. I'm going charge more for this but not sure if Ubik would remove this with magic sponge. When it comes to inside and the mould would you spray Ubik when inside or would a standard mould treatment work? Many thanks for your help.

Conservatory Roof

Hi everyone,

Quick question. I have a conservatory roof that is quite dirty to clean tommorow.

Historically I have used the customers tap water first and given it a good scrub and then finished with the pure water.

Is it ok, or even beneficial to use washing up liquid with the tap water at the first stage?

Your thoughts would be appreciated,

Hypo Mix

What ratio mix do you generally use to get the algae off the finials on the conny roof (the fancy bit that runs along the top)
Been using UBIK for some time but have been told that Hypo will give a more comprehensive result and gets into all the nooks and crannies, then just drops off with minimal scrubbing. A farm shop near me apparently sells the stuff.
So what ratio mix do most of you use please.

What do you include in a full valet?

Do you oil hinges, adjust them, replace rubber gaskets? would do you include in a full valet that makes it different from just an in and out clean. Or do you just clean? how far do you go in getting to the sort of service sanderson and the like are offering. I'm looking at all the different options involved in conny cleaning to move it forward from the basic conny in and out clean I do at the mo.

I have 3X5Ltr of Black wash which I will no longer use. They were got for a Connie and a driveway. WHere could I sell these...Do Ebay allow caustic chems to be sold and how could I get it delivered...Can you send it by normal Courier? All Advice appreciate.

Got a conny roof tomorrow its rotten green moss and algae this is an existing customer that as just moved house the conversatory is a old dark hard wooden building will the ubik leave stains or marks the roof is corrugated plastic.

Don't bother to quote cleaning the conservatory, we've just had it cleaned she says. Inquisitively I asked who cleaned it. Thomas Sanderson she replies. My price instantly went up in my head :hehehe:. I'd have cleaned the outside of the conny for £150 max. Guess how much TS charged for in and out, 2 of them and done by 3pm. Oh and they missed a bit on the finial :D.
